"While he was preparing his solo album, we came to learn about his tremendous abilities and potential. Teddy, who worked on the album with him, agrees. His musical talent, entertainer’s instinct, passion and the ability to move people and convey his sincerity to people around him are TaeYang’s greatest strengths. He makes sure every staff member is taken care of and lets them know how sincerely grateful he is for what they do for him. Also when any of the YG employees leaves the company or is having a hard time because of a personal problem, he is the one who sympathizes with and/or miss them the most. I am often touched by him, thinking, 'Oh, I didn't think he would know but he did.'
"When we were shooting a music video for his solo album, we were on a tight schedule and had to work around the clock. Needless to say all of us were completely exhausted. During a break, all the staff members gathered around to complain how it was too much to handle and we couldn’t take it any longer. Then I just happened to look up and saw TaeYang quietly wiping his bloody nose, standing alone in a corner. Of course, he was the one who was working harder than anyone… We were older nunas and hyungs but were acting so immaturely. He always works and thinks things over two, three times harder than any of us.
"That is why all of us at YGE worked together toward a common goal – we all sincerely wished him to succeed. TaeYang has this extraordinary talent to move and motivate people."

"Once, Mr. Yang compared each of the Big Bang members to a different kind of saplings. He says I am like a tree that blooms brilliant flowers to attract people's attention; TOP, a tree with a thick, heavy trunk; TaeYang, a tree that grows well by itself; DaeSung, a tree that bears lots of fruits; and Seungri, a tree that will grow taller after a good pruning. YB spotted with Teddy, Kush & Amiee
Hello, everyone! I am a 26 year old fan of YoungBae’s.
…
Yesterday, I went to a (Japanese) restaurant called “Teriyaki” with a few of my friends in the HongDae district. I was just looking around after we were seated and the next minute, voila! I was looking directly at Mr. Yang’s face. Then I saw Kush, Teddy and Aimee sitting next to him! And what’s more, there was our YoungBae too!!!
You know how he wears his hat tilted to the side, so I couldn't see his eyes – all I could see was his nose and chin. He was eating heartily – I just saw his jaws moving. Our YoungBae was just munching and chewing without saying anything lol.
Funny how the other people in the restaurant didn't seem to be aware of his presence. Don't they know? My friends didn’t notice it either so I told them. I was like, “Do you know TaeYang of Big Bang? He’s the one who’s eating right there. The one wearing his hat tilted to the side.” But all my friends said was, “Wow, Mr. Yang looks so much older now. Looks like a regular ajussi now.” They were only interested in Mr. Yang. T_T
Anyway, I couldn’t believe that no one in the restaurant was showing any sign that they had noticed them or trying to approach them, ask them for autographs or take pictures. As a matter of fact, there were a few - including me – who were stealing glances at them. LOL. I guess because all of us were all at least college students, we were trying to act with dignity LOL.
Well, I bought TaeYang’s album and have been to his solo concert. I love only YoungBae, so…I kept stealing glances while my heart was beating wildly. I so wanted to ask for an autograph but tried very hard to restrain myself, thinking, what if YoungBae says no and it would be a total embarrassment in front of Mr. Yang, Teddy, Kush and Aimee!
Mr. Yang was with only YoungBae, Teddy, Kush and Aimee and there were no other Big Bang members. I guess there really IS a YB project underway (shivering with expectation).
I finally saw YoungBae’s face when a waitress (or a waiter) talked to him. Oh, my! He got such fair and clear skin.
The other thing that impressed me: Our glances locked when he was tying his shoelaces after he finished his dinner and he quickly looked the other way lol. Then on his way out, he went right behind Aimee, put both of his hands on Miss Aimee’s shoulders and walked out. T_T
Mr. Yang left in his car right after and YoungBae and Aimee walked away together the other way. Wow, Mr. Dong YoungBae walking about freely in the streets…
Well, it was quite an experience for me. I never thought I would see him other than on stage – but I did!
Maybe this will be my lucky year. I felt really blessed, LOL!
Aimee was shorter than YoungBae and looked so cute and petite. Both YoungBae and Aimee are such cuties, but once they are on stage, dancing together, they turn super sexy and completely blow you away!
Anyways, whatever they are working together on, I hope we will see the “YB Project” soon.

I am an Alicia Keys fan too

TaeYang who got known for his recent successful solo single “Look Only At Me” was the opening performing artiste to international pop star Alicia Keys‘ concert in Korea on 7th August in Seoul Jamsil Stadium.
The concert tour “As I Am Tour” is a much anticipated one after Alicia Keys last had it in Korea 4 years ago.
TaeYang performed the song “Prayer” and said, “We welcome everyone to Alicia Keys’ concert. I was also there at her first public performance in Korea before I debuted as a singer.” After which he performed another song “Look Only At Me”.
Gummy was the opening performing artiste for Alicia Keys’ concert 4 years ago, and there has been a lot of interest and concern with regards to who will do the opening performance this time. TaeYang was chosen for being one of the more prominent R&B acts in the Korean music scene and was requested to do the opening performance.
Other artistes who turned up at the performance were As One, J, 1Tym, Danny, Gummy, Park Jung Hyun, Stony Skunk and WonderGirls.

Park Hyun Bin was at the telerecording of MBC’s havest festival special of ‘New Generation Star Trot Challenge’ on 7th September, where he did the trot version of the song.
On the show, Park Hyun Bin was dressed like TaeYang from head to toes, and he even did a little of the dance which he learnt directly from TaeYang’s dance team.
Not only did Park Hyun Bin performed the trot version of ‘Look Only At Me’ on the show, he also did ‘All together Cha Cha Cha’ and ‘Look at my, GwiSoon’.

The final list for 2008 MKMF nominee-and-song list has been released, and has also attracted heated response from music fans.
¡®2008 Mnet KM Music Festival (MKMF)¡¯ will he head on 15th November. The list also be announced on 17th November on cable channel Mnet ¡®Wide Ent News¡¯.
This year, there will be 7 sections for the singers awards, 5 sections for genre awards, 13 sections for music video awards and other awards, with 3 DaeSang award in the total of 30 awards all together. To order to produce the fairest judging for the awards, much effort has been put into the judging system.
Especially exciting will be the showdown of the different boybands. There is Dong Bang Shin Ki, who never fail not to clinch any of such awards, and also Big Bang who has been rising strong in the Kpop market in the 1 year and 7 months when Dong Bang Shin Ki has been inactive in Korea and promoting overseas.
Will Dong Bang Shin Ki take Big Bang down by showing them their glory of the past, or will Big Bang show that they will continue to defend for their place in the Kpop market as the best idol group, is a hot topic amongst music fans.
Other than this, we are in for more showdowns between different artistes like SHINee and 2PM for Newcomer award, and Kim Dong Ryul and Seo Taiji for Male Singer Award.

Big Bang has won the #1 position on a Thailand International chart 4 consecutive weeks.
Big Bang mini album Stand Up title song Haru Haruwas at the #1 position from the 1st to 5th week on the chart (4th Oct~31th Oct), beating other popular singers like Mariah Carey, Pussy Cat Dolls, Pink etc.
MTV Thailand International Chart tabulate the total number of times the song was aired and also listeners requests in the week.
Big Bang has proved to be popular not only within Korea and Thailand.
TaeYangs Prayer, from his solo album Hot, was #1 on the chart for 4 consecutive weeks, and it was at #13 on the chart during the 5th week of October. His solo mini album title song Look Only At Mef was also doing strong on the chart like Prayer, and is at #31 on the chart this week.
Outside Thailand, Big Bang released their first Japanese album Number 1�Œ in 22nd October. The album rose up to #3 on the Oricon Daily Chart on the same day of the album release, receiving a lot of interests from fans and the media. Big Bang was also hailed as eKorea EXILE by Japanese press Sports News.

GQ Korea released their list of the Men of the Year and this time Big Bang’s Taeyang, found himself topping the list. Here are some highlights of the interview:
Taeyang is the only member of Big Bang who hasn’t passed out or sprained anything. He attributes it to being healthy and working out often. When the interviewer jokes that it’s because he’s healthy, doesn’t drink, goes to church every week and isn’t funny Taeyang replies that he is funny. But then goes on to say that people laugh at him when he’s trying to be serious.
Further into the interview GQ asks him about his boyish image being so prominent, to which Taeyang replies, “I am worried about that too; people always see me as this same image: straightforward, constant, changeless. But I won’t always be like that.”
The mini Big Banger is also worried about falling into temptation as he gets older. Taeyang then talks about a cocktail “that you drink with straw after you light it on fire”.

Hip hop group 1TYM member Teddy will have this comeback stage after 1 year.
Teddy will be performing for TaeYang’s solo stage on 31st for MBC Gayo DaeJeon.
TaeYang will be performing ‘Look Only At Me’, ‘Prayer’ and ‘Ma Girl’ for his special stage on 31st December. And Teddy will be performing for the rap of song ‘Prayer’.
A YG representative said, “It is a shame that Teddy could perform for TaeYang‘ solo concert previously. Fans are looking forward to the first ever joint stage between the 2.”

At the announcement of the 2009 Korean Music Awards Nominees, nearly all ‘idol’ singers were noticeably absent from the list of nominees.
At the press conference for the 6th Annual Korean Music Awards—which was held at 10:30 A.M. on February 4 at the Seoul Joong-Gu TaePyong Korea Press Center—both a general outline for the upcoming ceremony and a list of nominees by category were announced.
Nominees in competition for the 2009 Korean Music Awards were selected from a review of songs and albums released domestically starting November 1, 2007 through October 31, 2008. Sister’s Barbershop’s ‘Most Ordinary Existence’ was nominated in a total of 5 categories including Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Artist of the Year, Best Modern Rock Album and Best Modern Rock Song. Galaxy Express, Verbal Jint, Toy, Kim DongRyul, and W&Whale each received nominations in 4 categories. However, it was difficult to find the names of any of the so-called ‘idol’ singers among them.
Neither Seo Taiji’s first single from his 8th album nor Rain’s 5th album ‘Rainism’ earned nominations. TVXQ and Big Bang, each of whom drew a lot of popularity in the last year, were excluded from the list of nominees as their album release dates were November 12 and November 5 respectively.
The Wonder Girls received nominations in two categories including Song of the Year and Best Dance & Electronic Song, as well as a nomination in the Netizen’s Artist of Year category. Big Bang TaeYang was voted #1 for ‘the male idol member who will best succeed going solo’.
DCInside (www.dcinside.com) did the survey 11th-18th November and with a total of 10,084 votes, Taeyang emerged #1 with 2335 votes (23.2%).
Taeyang released his first solo album “HOT” with the title song “Look at Only Me” this May. He also did a first-ever solo concert in July.

DCInside (www.dcinside.com) did the survey 11th-18th November and with a total of 10,084 votes, Taeyang emerged #1 with 2335 votes (23.2%).
Taeyang released his first solo album “HOT” with the title song “Look at Only Me” this May. He also did a first-ever solo concert in July.
Here are the rest of the results. SeungRi received 1,553 votes (15.4%) at 2nd place, SS501 leader Kim Hyun Joong at 3rd position with 1,130 votes (11.2%). Others on the chart are Big Bang GDragon, Kim Hyung Joon and Kim Kyu Jong from SS501.

It is the popular boy group Big Bang’s member TaeYang’s real name. A singer and a rapper of the band, TaeYang is better known as “Dong YoungBae” in the DC Inside communities.
In January 2007, a few months after Big Bang’s debut, the Dong YoungBae Gallery (“DCYB”) opened at DC Inside. It was the first DC Gallery that was not for the whole band/group but for an individual member of a group: what was it about Dong YoungBae (“DYB”) that captured the eyes and ears of the so-called “DCians,” who were notorious for being uncompromisingly particular and mercilessly impartial when it comes to music?
Amid successful, highly visible activities as Big Bang, DYB released his first solo EP on May 22. It was the day when the long-awaited dreams of all DCYB Gallers who had tirelessly driven themselves toward the goal of seeing DYB release a solo album have finally come true. At this moment, the DCYB Gallers are vigorously promoting DYB’s new album, assuming the role of his “strongest supporters.” Their response is that the EP was “worth the wait.”
On May 31, DYB the solo artist was scheduled to perform on camera for the very first time. We met him after the rehearsal in his waiting room at the MBC Dream Center. Understandably, he looked a bit nervous. But I couldn’t find anything that even remotely reminded me of a “teen idol” in his calm and courteous manner during the interview.
According to DCYB Gallers, DYB possesses “7 Irresistible Charms” - dancing, singing, rapping, texture of voice, vocal style, groove, and stage performance. Although I couldn’t see all of them myself within the short period of time allowed for the interview, one thing I can say with certainty is that he was much more charming in person than on-camera.

Q: You’re about to perform on TV for the first time. How do you feel?
YB: Extremely nervous. I couldn’t sleep a wink last night (laugh).
Q: Your first solo EP was released on May 15. Must’ve been an emotional moment for you because it was the first album released in your name after all. What was it like? Also tell us a little bit about your album.
YB: First off, since it was my first solo album, I felt pressured and pretty excited too (laugh). But most of all, I was very happy that I finally had the chance to do the music I’d wanted to do for so long. Through this album I can finally show you the music I’ve wanted to do.
Q: You became the first Big Bang member to release a solo album. How did you feel when you were presented with the proposal that you release a solo album?
YB: It was President Hyun-Seok Yang who first suggested that I release a solo album. I was really caught off guard (laugh) because I had never expected such an opportunity so soon.
Q: You know, your solo album had originally been scheduled to be released last September, and many fans had impatiently waited for it. Then there was a rather long delay. Why was it delayed and how did you feel about it?
YB: Under the original plans, it was supposed to be released last September but… there were no breaks in the group activities and it got delayed a lot as a result. But I certainly didn’t want to rush and release an album when I was not ready (laugh).
Q: What was it like when you first hold one of your CDs in your hands?
YB: I’d been preparing for it for the longest time and it was the first album outside Big Bang with only my voice on it after all. When I first got my CD in the packaging, I was so excited and happy.
Q: Many fans are not entirely happy because your album was released in the name “TaeYang” instead of “Dong YoungBae.” What’s your take on this?
YB: I know that many fans like my real name better. I thought about releasing my first solo album in my real name but I’ve been known as TaeYang for years now and… then I would end up having too many names so I just decided to use the name TaeYang.
Q: What did you focus on most making this album?
YB: I focused first and foremost on… making an album in which I could express myself and really show my colors as a solo artist, not as a member of Big Bang. As a result the album contains many songs that appeal to your emotional side.
Q: It contains 6 songs in total. What was the extent of your role in choosing the songs? (Question from DC Gallers bf and yb)
YB: First, in terms of music, I took the lead in setting the overall direction, the kind of music I wanted to do best. Once Teddy, Kush and I started working together from early this year, we discussed a lot about the types of music I wanted to do and the themes and styles of my stage performances.
Q: How satisfied are you with this album? On a scale of 100, how much would you give?
YB: About 60… (laugh)
Q: Isn’t that too low? (Laugh) What are you not happy about it?
YB: Well, the fact that I didn’t actually write any of the songs.
Q: What was most difficult while making the album?
YB: “Difficult” may not be the right word but…well, I had to juggle my album and the group activities and sometimes, I couldn’t sing as well as I wanted to. That was a bit difficult for me.
Q: Do you feel pressured because you go on solo now? Must be very different from working as a group.
YB: Of course I feel lots of pressure (laugh). Especially when I think about the people who’ve been waiting for my solo album for quite a long time. Naturally, there are many things that I have to do and handle alone unlike when I was with other members.
Q: Which song in the album is closest to the kind of music you’ve wanted to do?
YB: I should say all of them represent the music I’ve wanted to do so it’s difficult to choose only one but if I had to…I think “Prayer” is the one that most appropriately expresses what I am at this point of my life.
Q: I hear that that is also your favorite song from the album.
YB: True. Of course I like all six songs but if I had to, I’d choose Prayer. Because, as I already told you, that song most effectively captures what I am right now, both in the sense of stage performance and the fact this is my first album as a solo artist.
Q: Many people love “Prisoner (a.k.a. Sinner).” I am one of those people (laugh). Is there any chance that we will see you perform that song live on stage?
YB: I see (laugh). No plans yet though (laugh).
Q: Tell us about your plans of activity as a solo artist in detail.
YB: I don’t have any specific plans yet but I think I will meet you mostly through music programs (laugh).
Q: According to the announced plans, you will work as a solo artist for about a month or so. Given the long preparation period, doesn’t it feel too short for you?
YB: Well… not really. I am just so grateful for the fact that I had my solo album released. The length of period could be important in a sense but I don’t ascribe much importance to that. Rather, I focus more on how I will show as much of what I have to show you as possible whithin that short time frame. It’s true that usually artists are given more time once they release a new album, but I have to play a more important role as a member of Big Bang. If anything, the situation sort of makes me more determined to do more in that short period of time.
Q: You spent long and hard trainee years. The thought that you would be able to debut someday alone might not have been enough for you to hang on for six long years. What was it that has pulled you through those years?
YB: Belief I guess. While I was training, I wasn’t sure at all that I would be able to debut and become a singer. But I firmly believed that my dreams would come true eventually. Every time I felt frustrated, I tried to dream even bigger dreams and work harder. That was what pulled me through.
Q: Was there any particular occasion that made you feel that you just had to become a musician, a singer?
YB: I always loved music but I think it was when I met JinuSean that I first started dreaming about becoming a singer.
Q: You’ve expressed your love for African American music, especially R&B music in many interviews, which seems distinctly different from the music Big Bang does. Are there any conflicts among members in terms of music? If there are, tell us how you reach a consensus.
YB: There are no conflicts (laugh). We all agree that first we should let as many people as possible know about our music and then we will be able to do the music we really want to do.
Q: To which genre of music are you most attracted right now? And are there any other genres that interest you?
YB: I still listen to R&B/hip-hop/soul a lot but try to listen to music in other genres as well because I want to experiment in diverse areas (laugh).
Q: I understand you started out as a rapper. Was there any particular reason why you turned to singing?
YB: Rapping and signing…two very different things but I love them both very much. I wanted to become a rapper but loved singing too. Then when I heard that YG was planning to put together a boy group, I thought it “could be helpful if I could sing better” and started working on my vocal skills.
Q: Of the three - rapping, singing and dancing, which one most interests you? And where do you feel you are weakest?
YB: Now I am most interested in singing and dancing. But I still don’t think that I am really good at any of those things (laugh). I am weak in all three… (laugh)
Q: Are you also interested in writing your own songs?
YB: I am interested (laugh). Still need working but I want to write songs that reflect my own feelings and thoughts.
Q: Hmm…What do you think is your greatest strength as a musician?
YB: Frankly I’m not sure yet (laugh).
Q: Then what do you think is your greatest weakness?
YB: In the area of vocals. I also feel that I could stand to improve my dancing skills substantially. I want to create something that only I can do and that’s uniquely me (laugh).
Q: Compared to when you first started out, your vocal styles have changed a great deal. Did that happen just sort of naturally or did you make conscious efforts?
YB: Can’t really say I made conscious efforts… You can’t really afford to insist on the same genre (laugh). I think that happened sort of naturally while I was trying to sing songs of different styles.
Q: Last year you featured in JoHan Kim’s album. The song “I Should’ve Loved You Less” is my favorite too. How did that collaboration come about?
YB: I had a few vocal training lessons with him before and that’s how we got to know each other and the chance to collaborate with him came about.
Q: Have you ever taken vocal lessons from other vocal trainers than him?
YB: Yes, I have. I only took a few lessons from JoHan Kim because it was after our debut. I learned what singing was all about from the famous vocal trainer Won-Seok Choi. I still take lessons from him.
Q: Are there any musicians that you admire or make you want to be like them? Who was the biggest influence on your music?
YB: There are many that I respect and admire but I’ve never really wanted to be “like” any particular musician (laugh).
Q: Then are there any artists/producers you want to work with, regardless of nationality and the times?
YB: Mmm… Stevie Wonder, Jermaine Dupri, Scott Storch… and Teddy of course but luckily I had a chance to work with him on this album (laugh).
Q: Oh, and you also said you wanted to perform on stage with In-Soon-Ee. Be they Korean or foreign, male or female, do you have any other vocalists you want to collaborate with other than her?
YB: Mmm… Lil Wayne and Kanye West.
Q: What is the biggest difference between now and before your debut?
YB: Well, many people recognize us now and I feel less free than before. Other than that, things are pretty much the same.
Q: What are your personal goals and ambitions as a musician?
YB: I want to have more people recognize me for my music and my performances. My goal is to become a musician recognized internationally as well as in Korea (laugh).
Q: Then how do you envision yourself in 10 years?
YB: In 10 years, I wish… it would be great if I could become an internationally acclaimed artist (laugh). Or I could be a father (laugh).
Q: You come across as a quiet, serious type. What are you really like?
YB: A bit conservative and headstrong too (laugh).
Q: What do you usually do when you don’t work or practice - when you have free time?
YB: I ride my bike. When I have time, I watch movies, catch up on my reading… that kind of stuff.
Q: I am curious what the other members’ reactions were when they first heard about your solo album.
YB: There were no particular reactions but they’ve been extremely supportive and helped me a lot (laugh).
Q: You guys must be like a family but is there a sense of competition among members? How is it?
YB: Not so much a sense of competition… We respect one another’s opinion within the boundaries of Big Bang and take a very anything-goes approach to music in general.
Q: Big Bang is very popular now. Did you expect this much popularity before your debut? You must feel awfully pressured every time you make a new album because of your popularity. How do you deal with the pressure?
YB: Frankly it’s beyond our wildest imagination (laugh). True, we feel pressured every time we make a new album. The only way I can think of to deal with the pressure is practice, practice and more practice (laugh). And things get easier once you know how to enjoy the whole situation.
Q: Personally, I think the name “Dong YoungBae” has so much more impact. How did the name “TaeYang” come about?
YB: Well, it was a stage name after all so I wanted something special. This could sound a bit childish but I thought the sun (“TaeYang” means “sun” in Korean) was the hottest and the brightest object in the universe. Frankly I don’t place much significance on names but I liked it for what it signified.
Q: I hear that you have a very good command of Japanese. When and how did you start learning Japanese?
YB: I first started to learn Japanese while in high school. Then YG Entertainment started to offer systematic training programs and I began to take lessons in earnest.
Q: Is there anything else you study other than Japanese?
YB: I want to study English of course (laugh). I work on it on my own but hope to have a chance to take structured lessons.
Q: They say you possess this “force” that dominates the stage and captivates the audience. Is there any performance that you feel you were at your best?
YB: I try to give my very best in any performance but… sometimes, well, more often than not it doesn’t turn out like that (laugh). If I have to choose, I think I was at my best during the Ciara performance. I really tried my best because we thought we were representing Korean music. Of course, there’s a great deal of room for improvement (laugh).
Q: Now the inevitable question - Let’s talk about the DC Inside Dong Young-Bae Gallery (”DCYB”) (laugh). Have you ever been there?
YB: Yes, I drop by from time to time (laugh).
Q: We are curious what you think of DCYB.
YB: Mmm… To be honest, I go there and read the posts but most of the time I don’t understand what they talk about (laugh). To me, it’s like they communicate in some sort of an alien language (laugh). I mean, I really don’t understand what they are saying at all. Still I visit DCYB from time to time and get the impression that they know me very well. I can feel that they care about me and what I do. And every time I visit there, I feel stimulated. I appreciate the fact that there are people who give me objective criticism. In some ways, I find their views flattering but they also speak firmly when they see something that they don’t like. I feel very discouraged sometimes but feel motivated at the same time.
Q: DCYB believes that you will be the next big thing in the Korean R&B/hip-hop/soul music scene. What’s your take on this?
YB: First of all, I am extremely grateful that they approve the fact that I do R&B/hip-hop/soul music and listen to my music. I am not really sure whether I deserve such attention and compliments (laugh). To be honest, I feel a great deal of pressure, and such compliments make me extremely cautious when making even the smallest decisions.
Q: Not just DCYB Gallers but many people in other online communities say that you have a very unique voice. What do you think of your own voice?
YB: Mmm… Well, to be honest, I’ve never really thought about my voice. It’s just when I sing a song, any song, I try to be true to my heart, to understand the emotions and convey the meaning of the words in the most heartfelt way. Some people tell me I am blessed with a unique voice texture but I don’t really know. I’ve never really seriously thought about it in those terms. It’s just that the music I love happens to be R&B/soul music, and because that’s what I’ve been listening to since my childhood, I guess I am more likely to sing and express myself that way.
Q: What do you do to protect your voice?
YB: To protect my voice… I stay quiet (laugh). My throat hurts when I talk too much (laugh). I don’t really eat anything particular for my throat. I just take a rest any chance I get. Not just for my throat but for my body too.
Q: Many DCYB Gallers are dying to see you perform at your solo concerts (laugh). I presume you don’t have plans yet but I want to know what you think about the idea of holding solo concerts.
YB: You’re right (laugh). I don’t have any plans yet but would sure love to perform all six songs on stage. I also think solo concerts could be very helpful to me. There’s so much I want to do too. Of course it would be awesome if I could but there are simply too few songs on my album… (laugh). Besides, Big Bang is currently on a national tour. I wouldn’t be able to perform all six songs of course but I would like to show you as much as I can.
Q: You received this framed piece of calligraphy from DCYB saying “Being Like YoungBae.” That was pretty impressive. Where did you hang it (laugh)?
YB: Oh, I hung it in the living room of our apartment (laugh).
Q: You know what “Being Like YoungBae” means, right?
YB: Yes, there are several different things written on it too. It’s a phrase from our documentary. They were actually words used to scold me but the Gallers kindly interpreted it in the most complimentary way (laugh).
Q: Umm… Some people say that you are way too strict on yourself and sometimes too hard on yourself. You are only 20 years old. Aren’t you being too cruel to yourself (laugh)?
YB: I guess that’s just my personality. It could be seen as too much, I guess. It may not be appropriate to say such things about myself but I am very strict on myself because I always see room for improvement. And there are other people who notice it too. When I perform on stage, most fans say I did well but I always remember what I did not do well. There are people who remember that like I do and they are DCYB Gallers. And they’re right.
Q: How is TaeYang on stage different from TaeYang off stage? (Question from DC Galler Lara)
YB: Well, I guess I tend to become more confident and try to do more and better when it comes to the things I love and I think I can do well. I have this passion and drive to do really well on stage and try to control myself a lot. Off stage, I just quietly… (laugh).
Q: Now a question that seems very popular these days - “What’s music to Dong YoungBae?”
YB: To me, regardless of the genre, music is a treasure that has always been a source of my strength and inspired me to have dreams. The metaphors change every time I answer the question, but it’s something that you cannot compare to anything (laugh).

He revealed, "Fans in their 20s and 30s have given me a lot of presents which were useful and meaningful." It seems that TaeYang is very popular amongst fans in their 20s and 30s.
Amongst the presents he received, are many CDs including old pop songs, keyboard and even a mini size refrigerator, all which can help him at his work for his music, TaeYang told Yoon Do Hyun.
Yoon Do Hyun who was impressed after hearing the list of gifts that TaeYang received said, "These noona fans are really good people. One day, I wish to meet them too."
Yoon Do Hyun then continued with, "All this while during my activities, fans have been sending me health food." sending a wave of laughter from the audience.

Big Bang TaeYang revealed another side of fellow member GDragon.
TaeYang was on MBC ‘Come and play - Big Bang edition’ on 22th September where he talked about GDragon as ’surprisingly careless with his words’.
He said on the show, ‘Because we are friends for 9 years, there is almost nothing which I don’t know about him. There are times on broadcast programs where he revealed things for the fun of it but had bad effects on me.”
He continued, “There was once when we were in a conversation on physiology when he said ‘YongBae, sorry’ and he exposed that I flatulate easily. But I am not the type who flatulate easily!”
On the same episode, member SeungRi revealed, “There was once on a broadcast program when I was tired and I didn’t manage my facial expressions well. If someone talks to me with an unkind tone, I tend to show it on my face.”
And then he added, “President Yang Hyun Seok then gave me advice, ‘If you cannot control our own mind, how can control others’ mind?’”
DaeSung also added, “Even though there was no one time when we thought of not continue as part of Big Bang anymore, but when we first debuted because we may sometimes show unhappy expressions, we are sorry about it.”
SeungRi then added, “DaeSung also told me that even if sometimes it gets tough and we did not express our expressions well, if we attempt to change it, we can overcome it soon.”

Big Bang For Sweet Vacation In May!, Tae Yang & SeungRi in AMERICA!
Group Big Bang will have a honey sweet vacation in the month of May.
YG president Yang Hyun Seok revealed that some time should be need for the members to recharge and hence for the whole of May, there will be no activities scheduled for the group.
Yang said in a phone interview, “Since their debut in 2006, Big Bang has not got the chance to rest properly. To make sure that they can make the best out of their Japanese promotions, they will have the whole of May to rest.”
Big Bang recently ended their promotion for their 3rd album title song ‘Sunset Glow’ last year. And right after that, member SeungRi into his solo promotion of the song ‘Strong Baby’ and the rest of the members did CF shooting and also did recording and working for their own music. All busy in ‘unseen places’. Also they will be staying in Japan and busy for their promotion in the months of June and July and recently they are also preparing for that.
Members DaeSung and SeungRi has already ended their MC taskes on MBC Music Core on 28th March for the vacation. But for DaeSung who has to be on SBS variety show ‘Family Outing’ and TOP who is doing filming for drama ‘IRIS’, the members will not be running for any promotions activities for that month.
This will be their first vacation or rather ‘recharging period’ for Big Bang in 3 years since their debut. YG president Yang Hyun Seok revealed that some time should be need for the members to recharge and hence for the whole of May, there will be no activities scheduled for the group.
Yang said in a phone interview, “Since their debut in 2006, Big Bang has not got the chance to rest properly. To make sure that they can make the best out of their Japanese promotions, they will have the whole of May to rest.”
Big Bang recently ended their promotion for their 3rd album title song ‘Sunset Glow’ last year. And right after that, member SeungRi into his solo promotion of the song ‘Strong Baby’ and the rest of the members did CF shooting and also did recording and working for their own music. All busy in ‘unseen places’. Also they will be staying in Japan and busy for their promotion in the months of June and July and recently they are also preparing for that.
Members DaeSung and SeungRi has already ended their MC taskes on MBC Music Core on 28th March for the vacation. But for DaeSung who has to be on SBS variety show ‘Family Outing’ and TOP who is doing filming for drama ‘IRIS’, the members will not be running for any promotions activities for that month.

Taeyang wish to kiss his girl friend

TOP who recently appeared on MBC "Brain Battle" was asked by Kim Na Young the question "What is the cap for the age range for when you have a girlfriend?". TOP had answered, “Infinity(∞)”.
Also appearing on the same episode of "Brain Battle", Big Bang members TaeYang and Seungri and also Supernova YoonHak had answered, "It is okay if she is older than me by 10 years."
When it comes to relationship questions, TOP had answered 2 questions, SeungRi 2 and TaeYang none on the episode.

It’s been reported that it was the heat emanating from sweaty teen girls going crazy that caused fainting spells during Big Bang’s concert on the 30th. Whether it really was the body heat of 13,000 or the sight of Taeyang’s shirtless torso that caused 30 fans to be carried out of the concert hall is yet to be determined. The girls were all okay after a little bit of rest and most of them ended up anxiously returning back to their seats to enjoy the rest of the show.
Big Bang performed 23 songs over two and half hours, including solo performances from each of the five members. Today’s Big Show concert was the first of three days that Big Bang will be performing at Seoul’s Olympic Hall. Who’s betting on the number of fainters hitting 100 before the weekend is over?

Male group Big Bang's Taeyang started shooting radiant rays of light like his name.
Out of the Big Bang members, Taeyang is the first to release a recent solo album and begin his activities. While the group members actively participate in individual activities, Big Bang is revered as the most popular idol group presently and attracts a lot of attention.
Taeyang, maybe because he felt that solo activity was awkward, was puzzled about what to do. "I have never dated a girl before. Whenever I am in front of a woman, I get nervous", Taeyang revealed in their documentary. The female lead in the music video, who plays the beautiful woman who always appears in his dreams, was really focused in her performance and really kissed Taeyang.
Taeyang did not expect that to happen. The production team involved in the music video shoot praised the actress saying that she looked natural and performed well.
"I was so surprised that I did not feel that I just experienced my first kiss. When the time comes that I have a girlfriend, I want to kiss her well", Taeyang said in an embarassed way.

Big Bang member TaeYang who is 21 years old in the coming year, has actually participated in acting when he was young.
He has particpated in the movie "Besame Mucho" which was screened in 2001 with artistes Lee Mi Suk and Jung Gwang Ryul. The filming took place in 2000 when TaeYang was still in elementary 6th grade. He had acted as the friend to Lee Mi Suk and Jung Gwang Ryul's son in the show, this was TaeYang's first acting experience.
This fact which was only known now to many fans and some of the comments from his music fans are, "(He was) really cute." and "His voice is the same be it then or now."
A representative of YG Entertainment said, "TaeYang has wanted to do acting when he was young. He has taken acting classes at acting schools when he was in elementary school."
Exactly how did someone who wish to do acting became a singer eventually? TaeYang first started out as a singer when he joined asLittle Jinusean in 2001. He was selected during YG Entertainment's audition and has performed in Jinusean's MV "A-YO" which had also made him known in the music scene. He had then became a singer trainee and had a vision to be a singer then.
The YG representative has revealed, "Then, TaeYang's parents had wanted him to be an actor. But TaeYang was already promoting as part of Little Jinusean and his potential as a singer was really obvious, coupling with the fact that he had trained very earnestly to be a singer."
TaeYang has trained for the next 5 years after that and had debuted as part of Big Bang in 2006.
But that does not mean that TaeYang has thrown away the dream to be an actor. He will be enroling for theatrical movie course in university in academic year 2008.
